Handmade Turquoise Jewelry

This is a new pair of earrings that were handmade by Gary Glandon, our in-house silversmith. They have a beautiful combination of watermelon tourmaline and turquoise. This is a combination that Gary has not used in the past but looks great together.

Both stones are highly unusual. We use a lot of turquoise here at Stagecoach, but not cut in this bullet-like shape. They are polished smooth all the way around as they come to a dull point at the bottom. The shape of these turquoise stones is interesting, much different from our normal cabochon style.

Watermelon tourmaline is a stone that we don't see here a lot at Stagecoach. It resembles watermelon because it has green around the outside with deep pink or red in the center. Tourmaline comes from a variety of different countries, including the United States. In fact, it is the state stone of Maine!

Gary got both stones from the same cutter. Due to their unusual nature, both were relatively expensive stones for Gary. They look wonderful in these earrings because both are bright and colorful. He does not currently have any more turquoise stones shaped like these so unless he finds more, this is the only pair of earrings like this that you will see.

These earrings are 2 1/4" long, including the hooks at the top. They are handmade with solid sterling silver, including the hooks.
