You are looking at a new Kingman turquoise bracelet from our very own Gary Glandon. Gary, my father, learned silversmithing from Native American jewelry artists many years ago and has his own workbench in the back of Stagecoach. He makes lots of different sorts of jewelry for us but sometimes it seems like his bracelets are most creative. The large surface area of bracelets gives Gary a nice playground to do wonderful and creative things that there just isn't room for on, say, a ring or earrings. You are able to see this clearly on display in this bracelet. It is bold and eye-catching with a hint of whimsical fun all in one package. Let's dive into this handmade turquoise bracelet!
The first thing that you will notice here is the gorgeous Kingman turquoise stone that is set dead-center. This is completely natural turquoise that comes from the Kingman mine in Arizona. Take one look at this stone and you can tell it is a high-grade material. It has a light-blue, slightly milky color with a dark matrix running throughout. You don't find this quality of turquoise in many places and it was a pricy stone for Gary. He picks out all of his stones directly from the miners to ensure that he is getting beautiful, high-quality turquoise.
Once you finish drooling over the turquoise, you will want to take a long look at Gary's fun silverwork that he has used with this bracelet. Right away you will notice the large hummingbirds that he cut and engraved. Besides the engraved lines, he also added some hammered texturing to the birds. If you look beyond the hummingbirds you will notice an entire nature theme in this turquoise bracelet. The Kingman turquoise stone is surrounded by silver leaves, which gives the appearance of a pretty blue flower that the hummingbirds are waiting to feed on. There is also an engraved border around the outside of this bracelet with lines that resemble plants. This nature motif is really fantastic and this is probably one of the most thematic pieces of jewelry that Gary has created. You cannot deny that he has put a ton of detail into this bracelet!
This bracelet was completely handmade from sterling silver right here at Stagecoach. It has genuine Kingman turquoise from Arizona. Because of its handmade nature, this is a one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry. You will never see another bracelet like this!
