This is a sterling silver cross pendant with a very pretty Sonoran Gold Turquoise stone. This was handmade right here at Stagecoach by Gary Glandon in a different style than his typical work. It is a gothic cross pendant with a neat design. Recently, Gary got a new texturing hammer that he has been really enjoying. The texture that you see on this pendant was added using this hammer. He also hand-engraved the border along the outside of this piece. The cutout pieces on the inside help make this gothic turquoise cross pendant feel lightweight and comfortable. The large bail that you see at the top is an added feature. It makes it possible to wear this on a nice set of beads or a heavy silver chain. The versatility that this adds is excellent.
Sonoran Gold Turquoise is mined near the northern border of Mexico. Often, you will find a tantalizing mix of green and blue with a little bit of gold matrix. This lovely mix of color is what we look for when picking out our Sonoran Gold Turquoise jewelry and stones. It has been incredibly popular in our store due to the extreme amount of character that each stone seems to possess. This Sonoran Turquoise cross pendant will certainly hold a unique place in your jewelry collection.
This turquoise cross pendant is about 2 1/2" long (not including the bail which adds roughly another 1/2 inch) and 1 3/4" wide. It was cut from 18 gauge sterling silver, about 1 mm thick. Please note that the chain that is pictured is not included. If you would like to add a chain or beads please contact us at 308-234-3313 and we can help you find one that would look great.
