This is such a fun, interesting ring! Designed by Calvin Begay, this ring was handcrafted by Native American jewelry artists in Gallup, NM. This is a fancy ring with a lot going on in the inlay, though it is only two stones. The main stone is jet and serves as the base for this ring. There is a small streak of cultured opal right in the middle of the jet. Together, this is meant to represent a shooting star soaring across a night sky. These Native American artists used little silver pieces to create other stars in the sky. It is a fascinating effect that Calvin Begay is noted for. This is like wearing a tiny piece of art on your finger for the entire world to see!
This ring is solid sterling silver (as indicated on the inside of the shank) and features a fun bend. Instead of a straight band, this ring has a little extra character due to that bend. Other than that, the artists kept this simple, electing to show their talents purely in the inlay work.
Please be aware that this ring will most likely need to be made in your size. Making these does take some time and we really appreciate your patience. These artists do wonderful, time-consuming work and we want to give them the time that they need to create a special piece of jewelry for you. If you have any questions about this, we would be happy to provide you with an answer. Please contact us by calling 308-234-3313.
