This is a simple but eye-catching turquoise necklace. It was handmade by Tony Yazzie, a Navajo Native American artist. Yazzie is a name that you see frequently in Native American jewelry, a surname that is rich with artistry. This necklace has a large Kingman turquoise stone with a deep blue color. This stone has a nice, rounded surface that protrudes out from its sterling silver housing. Tony Yazzie used a simple border around this turquoise stone. This border gives this necklace a clean and modern appearance.
There is a sterling silver chain that has been directly attached to the stone section. This means that it will not move around on the chain. This is a popular trend that we are seeing with Native American jewelry, and it offers a fresh look. In addition, the entire surface of the silver, including the chain, has been oxidized. This oxidation contrasts nicely with the blue in the turquoise.
The pendant portion is just under 1 1/2" wide and 1" from top to bottom. The total length of this necklace is 20".
