This is a brand new Kingman Turquoise pendant that Gary Glandon just finished. Gary is my father and makes all of his jewelry right here in the back of our building. He was taught by Native American jewelry artists many years ago and is always making new pieces for us to showoff. He uses high-grade turquoise stones that he gets straight from the miners. This particular pendant has a natural Kingman Turquoise stone with a lovely blue matrix that runs throughout. This is sometimes known as watermark because it resembles water ripples. It is a very pretty stone with a lot of great personality. Even its triangular shape adds some intrigue to this turquoise pendant. It is definitely another great piece that we are proud to display!
Gary added his classic leaf/feather styling to the silverwork. This was a look that his teacher, Les Baker, was known for and Gary has really enjoyed using as well. It is a style that never goes out of fashion and gives a lot of neat detail to a piece of jewelry. Gary cuts and solders each of these sterling silver pieces onto this pendant, which can require a substantial amount of time. Because this turquoise pendant is entirely handmade, you will never see another exactly the same. This is a one of a kind pendant with a natural American turquoise stone and great silver detailing that was made right here by my father. You can't get much better than that!
