Nebraska Handmade Jewelry

Kearney, Nebraska is known for the hundreds of thousands of Sandhill Cranes that visit the area every year in February and March. Over 500,000 cranes, around 80% of the world's population, stop in Kearney and the surrounding area to rest on their migratory journey north. The enormous clouds of Sandhill Cranes draw visitors from around the world and the event seems to grow each year.

As a special tribute to the Sandhill Cranes my father, Gary Glandon, handmade this sterling silver necklace. It depicts a lone crane in flight with a dark sky as a background. Gary blackened this background to create a contrast between it and the silver crane. He added a hammered texture to the background as well. All the details on the Sandhill Crane itself were hand-engraved, a time-consuming process. If you are looking for a high-quality souvenir of Sandhill Cranes, look no further. You will be able to cherish this handmade necklace forever!

In total, this necklace is about 20" long. The center portion is about 2 3/4" wide. If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us via email or at 308-234-3313.
