David Rosales Designs - Contemporary Native American Jewelry

This is such a neat pendant with an enormous amount of detail. Designed by David Rosales, this pendant was handmade by Navajo Native American jewelry artists in Gallup, NM. David Rosales calls this the Shalako Collection and it is comprised of turquoise, sugilite, and lab-created opal. Sugilite, in particular, is becoming highly sought after and difficult to find. Unfortunately, this beautiful purple stone may one day not be available.

Normally, David Rosales and his jewelry team do not inlay the Shalako Collection in a fancy detailed style. We typically see these stones inlaid in a geometric, block-like pattern. The artist who inlaid this pendant stepped away from the norm and created a wonderful Native scene with the stones. There is a mountain section created with turquoise and what appears to be some celestial bodies with opal. My favorite part of this pendant is the opal Yeibichai, an important Navajo spiritual being that is common in art and jewelry. The background of this pendant is a deep purple sugilite with excellent color. Creating a pendant such as this requires a remarkable amount of work. These stones are cut and shaped by hand, a tedious task for even simple geometric designs. The artistry that you see in this piece of Native American jewelry is what drew us to this pendant and we hope that you appreciate its craftsmanship.

Please allow six weeks for delivery of this pendant. If we have this in stock we will send it to you within two business days. Otherwise, one will be made for you. Due to the handcrafted nature of this Native American jewelry, this process normally takes around six weeks. Also, because of the amount of detail on display here, your piece may not perfectly match what is shown here. The artist will recreate this as closely as possible.
