Handmade Egyptian Turquoise Ring by Gary Glandon

This is a new turquoise pendant handmade by Gary Glandon right here at Stagecoach. It features a beautiful Egyptian Turquoise stone, mined in the Sinai Peninsula, the same historic region where turquoise was mined by the ancient Egyptians for jewelry and decorative items. In those times, the highest quality stones were reserved for elite individuals, including the Pharaoh.

Egyptian Turquoise often shares common visual traits, typically showcasing consistent blue coloring with a dark, intricate matrix woven throughout. Some stones may display just one or two matrix lines, while others, like the stone Gary selected for this pendant, have a denser, more intertwined matrix pattern. Egyptian Turquoise is elegant and rich in historical significance.

Gary complemented this stone with simple yet detailed silverwork. Each small detail around the stone is carefully handmade, including the diamond shape at the bottom, which Gary formed by melting and pressing silver into this shape. Although the pendant itself isn't huge (measuring 1 3/4" x 7/8"), Gary has still incorporated impressive detail. As with all of Gary’s handmade jewelry, you'll find his signature stamp on the back.
