Handmade Sierra Nevada Turquoise Necklace with Navajo Pearls

This handmade turquoise necklace by Gary Glandon features three beautiful Sierra Nevada turquoise stones. Two smaller square stones rest at the top, while a larger rectangular stone hangs below, creating a striking design. These particular stones have a deep blue coloring with just a touch of matrix, giving them a rich, natural look. Sierra Nevada turquoise is known for its range of blues and greens, often paired with an attractive matrix, and is highly regarded by collectors and jewelry lovers alike.

Gary accented the stones with three-dimensional triangular silver shapes, which he creates by melting silver into balls and pressing them into form. For the chain, he chose Navajo Pearls. These are oxidized sterling silver beads that have become increasingly popular for their distinctly Southwestern style. While Gary did not handmake the pearls, the combination of his custom turquoise setting with the Navajo Pearls is a fresh addition to his work. All of the silver work around the turquoise stones was handmade by Gary.

The necklace measures 16 inches in length and includes a 3-inch extension, allowing for a longer fit if desired. It closes with a lobster claw clasp for security and ease of wear. This is a unique turquoise necklace that blends traditional craftsmanship with a new design twist, making it a standout piece in Gary’s collection of handmade jewelry.
