Handmade Sterling Silver Egyptian Turquoise Earrings

These earrings were handmade in sterling silver and feature beautiful Egyptian Turquoise stones. Egyptian Turquoise is unique for several reasons. First is its historical significance—this is the same type of turquoise worn by ancient Egyptian pharaohs thousands of years ago. In fact, the famous mask of King Tutankhamun is inlaid with turquoise, among other stones. How neat is it to wear something that was prized more than 3,000 years ago?

Another remarkable aspect of Egyptian Turquoise is its appearance. It is easily identifiable due to its consistent blue coloring and thin, contrasting matrix. This gives it an elegant and chic appeal, similar in some ways to Sleeping Beauty Turquoise.

The best part of these turquoise earrings is that they were completely handmade by our very own Gary Glandon. Gary sourced these stones directly from Egypt's Sinai region and complemented them with detailed silverwork, enhancing their luxurious appeal. The small diamond-shaped accents toward the bottom were crafted by pressing silver into shape. Like all of Gary's creations, these earrings required considerable time and effort to produce.

They are crafted entirely from solid sterling silver, including the wire hooks, and measure approximately 1 7/8" from the top of the hooks to the tip of the diamond-shaped silver accent at the bottom.
