Handmade Kingman Turquoise Jewelry
This is a Kingman Turquoise cross pendant with an ornate victorian-gothic style. It was made from sterling silver by my father, Gary Glandon. Once the shape was cut out he engraved the line along the outside border. Then he used a special hammer to add the rough textured look. Gary also handmade the matching bail using the same procedure. The large size of this bail makes this cross pendant perfect for wearing on a heavy chain or nice set of beads. You can have a lot of fun with this and see what look you prefer.
Once finishing the overall shape of the cross, Gary set the turquoise stone. He made the unique notched bezel which I think adds to the gothic style of this cross. This has a bright blue Kingman Turquoise stone with a brown matrix. I think you will agree that the turquoise brings some great color to this pendant and acts as a nice focal point.
This turquoise cross pendant is significant in size. It measures 3 1/4" long (not including the bail which adds roughly another half inch when it hangs) and about 2 1/4" wide. IT was made from 18 gauge sterling silver. This is a large piece that will be the center of your outfit. That being said, it is very lightweight and comfortable to wear.
In my opinion, this pendant would work for either a man or a woman, simply depending on personal taste. You are most likely going to want a fairly heavy chain or set of beads to wear with this. The chain that you see in the picture is for display purposes only. However, if you would like to add a chain feel free to contact us at 308-234-3313 with your preferred length and we can help find something fitting.
