The Gary Glandon Kingman Turquoise Diamond Crest Earrings combine two oval Kingman turquoise stones in each earring with hand-engraved sterling silver and dangling Kingman turquoise beads. Handmade by Gary in the workshop at Stagecoach in Nebraska, this pair has a long, tapered shape with detailed silverwork from top to bottom.
The Diamond Crest name comes from the raised silver diamonds at the top. Gary made both diamonds individually and soldered it onto a textured silver panel. Beneath these panels, he hand-engraved lines that extend outward across the main body of each earring. He also used different texturing hammers to create contrasting finishes, including the rounded indentations surrounding the stones.
The Kingman turquoise has blue-green coloring with subtle variations and visible matrix. Smooth stone surfaces contrast with the textured silver, while the suspended turquoise beads add color and movement at the bottom. Bright sterling silver catches the light along the engraved lines and raised details.
These earrings are a good choice for someone who likes a bold silhouette and appreciates the work that goes into handmade jewelry. The projecting silver wires give the design width near the top, balanced by the narrow points and small bead drops below.
These turquoise earrings are really unlike anything Gary has made before. They are very artistic and unusual. You will never find another pair like this!
