Nebraska Passport Series - #1 What is the Nebraska Passport?

July 05, 2019 1 Comment

Nebraska Passport - Stagecoach

I haven’t mentioned it on our website before, but we are part of the Nebraska Passport program for 2019. If you haven’t heard of this before now, it is a program put on by the Nebraska Tourism Commission to help showcase some of the excellent destinations throughout our state. The Nebraska Tourism Commission describes its purpose as “helping travelers discover Nebraska’s hidden gems.” Believe it or not, there are a lot of really neat locations around the state that most people don’t know about.

Here is how it works: Every year around 70 different locations are chosen around the state for people to visit. This can include almost any type of destination, such as retail establishments, museums and attractions, and restaurants. Then from May 1st through September 31st participants can stop at each destination and have their Passport booklets stamped. Once you have earned enough stamps, you will qualify for different levels of prizes. If all 70 stamps are attained, you will earn a special prize. The great thing about the Nebraska Passport program is that participating does not have to cost you anything. There are no required fees and you can go to as many or as few stops as you want. It is a perfect way to find things to do in Nebraska that you may not have known about.

This is the 10th anniversary of the Nebraska Passport program and it has grown each year. We have heard lots of great things about it for a number of years and were delighted to be picked to be a part of it this year. We decided that we wanted to do something special for everyone who stops to get a stamp at the Stagecoach. After many hours of work and planning, we came up with a special memento to give away to every Passport participant. So grab your passport booklet and stop in for a stamp and you will receive a gift that we make right here at the Stagecoach!

So far the Nebraska Passport program has been really enjoyable and we have met a lot of wonderful people. Because of all of the great people that we have had the pleasure of meeting, we are starting a new blog series called “Nebraska Passport Stories.” We are going to tell you about different stories and experiences that we or others have had on the 2019 Passport program. I hope you will enjoy this series and that it will inspire you to join the Passport program.

There is still plenty of time to be part of this fun program! Stop into the Stagecoach and pick up your free Passport booklet to get started. Your participation helps to support Nebraska tourism and local businesses like the Stagecoach. If you have any questions about how it works, feel free to contact us or you can read more on the Nebraska Passport website. Stay tuned for more!

I love turquoise but don’t like the way they blow up the landscaping.
